Will the City of Greenhaven lower your property taxes. How do we know that Kathyrn Rice, who lost her bid for county commissioner is starting this to just get a job?
If you are afraid, maybe it’s time to sell before your property taxes increase, not decrease as they promised.
Organizers of the proposed city of Greenhaven in South DeKalb are calling on state legislators to grant them the right to vote on a referendum in 2016.
In a Nov. 30 email to supporters, Dr. Kathryn Rice, who chairs the Concerned Citizens for Cityhood in South DeKalb that is organizing the city, said the group wants to make one thing clear to the Georgia General Assembly.
“All the citizens of Greenhaven are asking for is to give the people the right to vote and decide their destiny,” Rice said. “We ask our full DeKalb Delegation to immediately, publicly, enthusiastically and unconditionally announce their intention to support the right of Greenhaven residents to simply vote on a cityhood referendum.”
